PORAC, Pampanga — Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil took his oath of office for a second term before Kapampangan Senator Manuel “Lito” Lapid on June 29, in front of the municipal office.

Senator Lapid’s son, Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid, read the oath of office during the ceremonies.

Capil was joined by his wife Leny, and two of their children, John Miguel and Trisha Angelie, as he took his oath.

Vice Mayor Francis Tamayo and elected members of the Sangguniang Bayan also took their oath of office before Senator Lapid.

Elected members of the Sangguniang Bayan include Councilor Michelle “Man-Man” Bengco; Councilor Bong Buan; Councilor Papay Carreon; Councilor Ayot Dimalanta; Councilor Joy David; Councilor Jovy Venzon; Councilor Ralph Canlapan; and Councilor Regin Clarete.

Before the 2022 elections, Senator Lapid expressed support to Capil’s candidacy and his whole team despite political differences in the past.

Meanwhile, for his second term, Capil vowed to focus on infrastructure development, eco-tourism and education.

For infrastructure, Capil said he will continue to invite investors who will put up essential establishments like commercial banks and supermarkets so Poraqueños need not do business outside of town.

For education, Capil and his team will push for the establishment of a local technical school for young Poraqueños.

For eco-tourism, Capil’s team is pushing for the development of various tourist spots in his town that can help generate jobs for Poraqueños.
