Mabalacat City launches livelihood program for IPs

MABALACAT CITY — This city’s Kabiayan Livelihood Training Program will now start conducting a series of training to members of the Mag-Antsi tribe and women of Santa Teresa ning Calcutta chapel on soap making, mat and basket weaving, sewing, beaded accessories making, and others.

This, after the Mabalacat City Tourism Office and Mabalacat Public Employment Services Office held the official turnover and acceptance ceremony for the Program at the Mawaque Resettlement Center on Thursday, July 28.

The official ceremony was led by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo together with city tourism officer Arwin Lingat, PESO head Bernard Delos Reyes, city administrator Franco Madlangbayan, Department of Labor and Employment – Region 3 assistant regional director Alex Cruz and Pampanga provincial director Arlene Tolentino.

The city government received a total of P500,000 check from the Department of Labor and Employment for the tourism livelihood program of this city. Materials for the livelihood training program were also provided.

On behalf of the Aeta Mag-antsi tribe, coordinator Dominga Cabiong thanked the city government for including them in MCG’s livelihood programs.
