P2-M marijuana seized from Nigerian in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY — A package containing high grade marijuana or kush worth at least P1.95 million was seized on Thursday from a Nigerian national in this city.

The suspect was identified as Ogechi Uzoma Madu, a Nigerian residing in Concubierta St., Sunset Valley Mansions, Bgy. Cutcut, Angeles City.

Authorities said a package containing illegal drugs from Greenwich, USA arrived at the Port of Clark on April 29.

The shipment was subjected to K9 sweeping and physical examination which gave positive indication of illicit drugs, prompting authorities to launch the controlled delivery operation against Madu.

Madu yielded some 1,500 grams of kush with a street value of P1,950,000 and the suspect’s driver’s license.

The operation was jointly conducted by anti-narcotic operatives led by PDEA Regional Office III, BOC Port of Clark and the local police.

The foreigner will be charged with violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165.
