Pampanga turns over funds, relief packs for Abra quake victims

ABRA — The Pampanga provincial government turned over P2 million to the Abra provincial government, P500,000 to the town of La Paz and P500,000 to the town of Lagangilang – all affected by the recent magnitude 7 earthquake – for the purchase of housing materials for their constituents, according to Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda.

The Pampanga delegation also distributed some 20,000 food relief packs to residents of Bangued, Tayum Lagangilang and Dolores.

They will also be distributing goods in three more towns — Peñarrubia, Bucay and Lapaz.

Each relief pack contains 5 kilos of rice, 5 canned corned beef and 5 cans of sardines. They also brought 20,000 containers that can carry 5 gallons of water. Water is supplied by CSFWD-Primewater, using the provincial Capitol’s purifier.

Pineda said his family also gave 20,000 packs containing 5 kilos of rice, while PDY Ventures lent their trucks and drivers for the mission.

“Hanga po ako sa disiplina ng mga taga-Abra. Maayos po ang mga pila. May ngiti sila ng pasasalamat,” the Governor said.
