ANGELES CITY — A total of 1,240 government employees here — 879, permanent, 334 casual, and 17 contractual — expressed gratitude to the city government for the mid-year incentive they received on May 16, 2022.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. earlier released Memorandum No. 648, Series of 2022, ordering the Local Finance Committee and the City Human Resources and Management to compute and release the mid-year bonus for City Hall employees.
Flordeliza Santos, President of the Angeles City Employees for a New and Dynamic Angeles (AGENDA), expressed her gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for pushing through with the measure.
“On behalf of all the employees at City Hall, nais ko pong ipaabot ang pasasalamat ko kay Mayor Lazatin para sa full support at benefits na ibinibigay niya sa lahat ng empleyado,” she said.
Lazatin, in turn, expressed that it is imperative in today’s situation for employees to be in receipt of cash bonuses for their hard work and impediment.
“Higit na mahalaga po ang ano mang porma ng tulong para sa mga empleyado. Lalo na’t ngayon po ay pandemya at araw-araw ay maari silang ma-expose sa sakit. Hindi po biro ang sakripisyo ng ating mga empleyado,” Lazatin said.
Lazatin also voiced his sincere thanks to the City Hall employees who did not put a halt in quality service despite the impending dangers of the COVID-19.
“I am truly indebted to the City Hall employees, dahil po sa kanila ay patuloy pa rin ang operasyon ng pagbibigay serbisyo sa ating mga minamahal na Angeleño kahit pa na may banta ng pandemya,” Lazatin claimed.
Aforementioned bonuses for employees amount to a one-month basic pay each.
This measure is in reference to Republic Act No. 11466 and the National Budget Circular No. 579 issued by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) last January 24, 2020.
