Aetas get early Christmas packs from malls

Aeta families of Iram Resettlement area in New Cabalan, Olongapo City received early Christmas packs from SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo Downtown as part of SM Supermalls’ ‘100 Days of Caring’ campaign.

SM Supermalls’ “100 Days of Caring” campaign aims to give back to people who have been part of their meaningful existence, featuring 100 days of spreading love, thoughtfulness, and care for one another and for the communities where SM has a mall.

During the Countdown to Christmas virtual event held on September 16, 2021, SM pledged to donate to over 10,000 beneficiaries, including communities in need, hardworking SM employees, medical frontliners and dedicated delivery partners.

In Olongapo City and Tarlac, a total of 100 Aeta families from Iram Resettlement Area in New Cabalan, Olongapo City and local tour guides of Pinatubo in Juliana, Capas in Tarlac were given Christmas packs by SM City Olongapo Downtown, SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Tarlac.

Aside from tangible gifts, SM also incorporated online talks on mental health to improve the perspective of their employees who may feel hopeless and lost during this time of crisis.

With the new normal brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, this predicament should not dishearten the holiday spirit. One can still share the joy of the season through some thoughtful gestures, according to SM.
