BOC-Clark conducts random drug testing on employees

CLARK FREEPORT — The Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark conducted random drug testing among its employees, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region III.

A total of 20 employees consisting of Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), Security Guard, organic and contract of service personnel were randomly selected to undergo drug testing, results of which were all negative.

The said activity was conducted in compliance to the directive of the Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero to conduct a Bureau-Wide Authorized Drug Testing on BOC employees in keeping with the policy of the Bureau to protect the well being of its officials and employees from the harmful effects of dangerous drugs and threats in the workplace.

District Collector Alexandra Lumontad said that the Port of Clark will strictly adhere to the directives of the Commissioner in promoting a safe and healthy drug-free work environment. She likewise stated that the importance of the said activity is to emphasize the responsibility of public servants to maintain a drug-free lifestyle and the Port to maintain a drug-free workplace.
