MASANTOL, Pampanga – Former Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, one of the leading candidates for senator, vowed to push for the quick release of P500 billion in government funds for “ayuda.”
In an interview here, Cayetano said the funds are available in different forms for cash assistance and they should be used to help the poor ones affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He and his allies in Congress are pushing for the P10,000 “ayuda” for each family.
Cayetano said the funds could be coursed through Local Government Units (LGU) such as in the case of “Bayanihan 1” but this may take too long before it could be released.
He is batting for the development of a mobile application where the beneficiaries of the “ayuda” can submit their requirements to government agencies that will expedite the processing and distribution.
Cayetano said the poor Filipinos should not be given a hard time seeking financial support as funds for them are regularly allotted.
