CLARK FREEPORT — The newly installed director of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has identified 14 areas of concern in Central Luzon, including two in Pampanga under the yellow category, in the upcoming May 2025 polls.
During the monthly News@Hues media forum of the Pampanga Press Club held at Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said areas falling under the yellow category are Baler, Aurora; Mariveles, Bataan; San Miguel and City of Meycauayan, Bulacan; Arayat and City of San Fernando, Pampanga; Aliaga, Cabanatuan, Cabiao, Gapan, Jaen, Lupao and San Leonardo all from Nueva Ecija.
Meanwhile, San Antonio in Nueva Ecija falls under the orange category due to its history of serious threats.
Towns falling under the yellow category have a history of election-related incidents, possible intense political rivalry and employment of potential armed groups and politically-motivated killings; while areas under the orange category have serious threats with poll-related violence.
In view of these areas of concern, Gen. Fajardo said “there’s no need to worry” as the police force and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will address any issue or concern.
“We are addressing the risk factors. Police visibility has been increased to prevent crimes or ensure their resolution,” she said.
Fajardo also reminded police forces in the region to remain apolitical specifically this May 2025 polls.
