DITO to roll out more 5G facilities as it reaches 13-M subscribers

After reaching 13 million subscribers in late 2024, DITO will be embarking on an infrastructure build-up this year to further boost the 5G capability of the country’s third telco provider.

Charlie Dayrit, head of DITO Business for north and south Luzon area, said that the mobile and broadband provider will be rolling out facilities for 5G capabilities for both its residential and enterprise subscribers. He was guest at News@Hues, a media forum of the Pampanga Press Club at Park Inn by Radisson Clark.

“We are adding more cell sites with 5G and upgrade those in 4G,” Dayrit said.

DITO started to operate five years ago and has slowly been posting a robust subscriber base.

Dayrit said DITO Business has concentrated in so-called CBD (Central Business District) as the Dennis Uy-owned (of Davao) company offers attractive packages for various enterprises.

“DITO service is experiential and it caters to data-driven economy,” he said.

The 5-year old telco company boasts of 7,000 plus brand new state-of-the-art “no legacy” towers, stand-alone 5G network, boosting its claim that it is the fastest growing telco in the Philippines.

One of DITO Business’ latest projects is the free wifi at Clark International Airport where it provides fast and reliable internet connections to passengers.
