MABALACAT CITY – The city government will now be looking for all the remaining senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and solo parents living in the city so they can be properly registered and avail the benefits from the programs of the city.
“Lahat kasama, walang maiiwan. Iparegister ninyo sila para wala ng magsa-sana all sa susunod na taon,” reelected Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo instructed the city’s medical team and other government employees during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony at the open ground of city hall.
Garbo shared his experience during the campaign period when he personally noticed that there are still some senior citizens who have not received benefits from the city’s senior citizen program.
Various benefits ranging from social pension to medical assistance for seniors, hospital assistance to employment assistance for PWDs, and educational assistance to financial assistance for solo parents have been provided by the Mabalacat City Government under the administration of Mayor Cris Garbo.
There are exemptions however on who can avail these benefits. Those senior citizens who are already receiving pensions from GSIS/SSS would not be part of the program, and the data will have regular updating.
The reelected mayor who is set to continue his second term was joined by his team who all won with a historic 12-0 result in the recent election. Garbo enjoyed 66,151 votes over his opponent who only got 21,801 votes.
