Lazatin lobbies for 10K vaccines a day from national government

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is lobbying for an allocation of 10,000 vaccines a day from the national government in order to fast track more the inoculation of residents here.

He made this appeal to vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., also the Chief Implementer of National Task Force against COVID-19 on October 4, 2021 during the Resbakuna event at SM City Clark. Galvez is also with Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vivencio Dizon during the event.

“Sa pagkakataong ito, ako po ay nakikiusap sa ating vaccine czar, Sec. Galvez, [at Sec. Dizon], na kung maaari po ay mabigyan ang Angeles City ng allocation na 10,000 na bakuna, lalong lalo na po para sa first dose,” Lazatin said. “Nang sa gayon po, patuloy na mapabilis ang pagbabakuna sa mga Angeleños. Rest assured that the Angeles City Government is one with the national government in finally eradicating the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. with Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., also the Chief Implementer of National Task Force against COVID-19, Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vivencio Dizon, Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo during the Resbakuna event at SM City Clark on Oct. 4, 2021.

Angeles City now records an average of 10,000 inoculations a day, via the blended vaccination schemes Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay of the city government, with 400 staff working non-stop led by IC Calaguas, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and Chief Implementer of the city’s vaccination program.

To date, 180,320 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines while 155,831 are already fully vaccinated.

“Kayang-kaya po nating makapagbakuna ng 10,000 Angeleños kada araw dahil na rin po sa walang kapagurang serbisyo ng 400 staff ng Angeles City Government,” Lazatin furthered.

If the request of Mayor Lazatin is granted and the city is able to finish the vaccination of all Angeleños, he vowed to assist nearby cities and towns in their inoculation roll-out thru the lending of the three mobile bus clinics and vaccination teams of the city government.

Meanwhile, Lazatin also recognized the importance of the launched VaxCertPH of the Department of Health with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

The VaxCertPH serves as the country’s vaccine certificate system for Overseas Filipino Workers and Filipinos going abroad.
“Sa inilunsad naman po ngayon na VaxCertPH, lalo po itong makakatulong na matukoy ang mga kababayan nating nangangailangan ng agarang proteksyong bakuna, partikular na ang ating mga OFWs,” Lazatin said.
