Mabalacat launches ‘Estado ni Juana’ Address

As part of the National Women’s Month Celebration 2025, Mabalacat City launched its first-ever Mabalacat City Government State of the Women’s Address (MCG-SOWA): Estado ni Juana 2025 on March 24, 2025 at the SMX Convention Center Clark.

The event gathered esteemed women leaders, city government officials, Punong Barangays, stakeholders from national, regional, and private agencies, members of the GAD Focal Points System (GFPS), the Population and Development (POPDEV) Council, Barangay Population and GAD Workers (BPGWs) Officers, and the Mabalacat City Council of Women.

The event was formally acknowledged by Charlo G. Costales, City Population and GAD Officer, and Vice Chairperson of GFPS.

Notable figures delivered powerful messages advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment, reaffirming the city’s commitment to supporting women. Among the speakers were:
Director Lourdes P. Nacionales, Regional Director of the Commission on Population and Development FO III; DILG CLGOO VI, Dianne Lorin T. Tolentino; and Board Member Cherry D. Manalo, Chairperson of the SP Committee on GAD, Family, and Social Services.

Their speeches emphasized the local government’s unwavering dedication to championing the rights and welfare of Mabalaqueñian women.

Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo, Chairperson of the GFPS and POPDEV Council, highlighted the city’s achievements in advancing women’s rights. He also expressed gratitude to various city offices and organizations for their continuous support and commitment to empowering women in the city.

The event also showcased a soulful performance by Justin Aira Falla of Barangay Paralayunan, Grand Champion of Mabalacat City’s Musika ni Juana 2023. She delivered a heartfelt rendition of “Lipad ng Pangarap”, resonating deeply with every Mabalaqueñian woman. Additionally, the Mabalacat City Grand Zumba Dancers energized the audience with a vibrant dance performance dedicated to celebrating women.

City Councilor Hon. Marjorie Grace M. Sambo concluded the ceremony with a message of appreciation for all stakeholders who contributed their time, effort, and unwavering support to advancing women’s welfare and empowerment in the city.

Every March, the Philippines celebrates National Women’s Month in accordance with Republic Act No. 6949. This month-long observance champions women’s rights, gender equality, and women empowerment, fostering a more inclusive society by transforming cultural norms.

This year’s theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” serves as a powerful call to action, emphasizing the importance of uplifting women across all sectors. It underscores the commitment to recognizing their invaluable contributions and ensuring equal access to opportunities.

The National Women’s Month Celebration 2025 in Mabalacat City stands as a testament to the collective efforts toward building an inclusive, equal, and empowered society for all women.
