Mabalaqueños give Garbo, Aquino, city execs high satisfaction ratings

TEAM MCG ALL THE WAY. Reelectionists Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino were joined by Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda during their massive motorcade and caravan prior to the staging of Team MCG’s Proclamation Rally held earlier this month. The Garbo-Aquino tandem remains Mabalaqueños’ top choice for the two highest elective posts in Mabalacat City as manifested by their high satisfaction and voter preference ratings in the past months. MABALACAT CITY – A recent survey shows that incumbent Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) in the Team MCG are enjoying very high satisfaction ratings from Mabalaqueños.

In a Public Opinion Survey (POS) conducted, respondents were asked: “Paano ninyo po gagaraduhan ang naging performance ng inyong kasalukuyang mga Leader?” (How would you rate the performance of your current leaders?)

Mayor Garbo earned an 85% voters’ satisfaction rating (good to very good). The incumbent mayor also earned the trust of practically the A to E socio-economic class. Class ABC (88%), D (86.1%), and E (78.6%), include age groups 18 to 29 years old (92.3%), 30 to 49 years old (80.5%), and 50 years old above (82.8%).

Meanwhile, Garbo’s running-mate Vice Mayor Aquino garnered an 80% voters’ satisfaction rating. This also merits a high satisfaction rating from respondents belonging to Class ABC (82%), D (80.6%), and E (76.2%), and age groups 18 to 29 years old (76.9%), 30 to 49 years old (83.1%), and 50 years old above (79.3%).

The POS was conducted by PROBE Data Processing and Research Services, the same polling firm that also projected Team MCG’s victory in 2019. The survey was commissioned by one of the country’s top corporations. It is considered the most credible non-partisan and scientific survey that is complete with methodologies, demographics, and other necessary research and polling elements.

For their part, Mayor Garbo and Vice Mayor Aquino expressed their elation over the people’s satisfaction with their performance, saying the survey turnout serves as a gauge of their effectiveness as elected officials. The city mayor also added that the results are a big boost to their candidacy as they seek new mandates from the Mabalaqueños.

The POS also showed Mayor Garbo and Vice Mayor Aquino are leading the race over their competitors earning 75.5% and 71% of voters’ preference, respectively.  The survey was conducted from February 23 to 25, 2022.

Also, the majority of the Team MCG council slate landed their respective spot on the roster of most preferred councilorables: Jun Castro (73%), Cherry Manalo (47.5%), Noel Castro (43%), Marjorie Sambo (38%), Jerry Magsino (35.5%), Liza Pineda (32.5%), Timothy Dee (31.5%), Carl Dizon (21.5%), Doc Cocoy Tiglao (21.5%), and Rox Peña (17.5%).

In March 2022, Argus Polls Inc. showed Mayor Garbo posting a 63% lead over his competitors. Moreover, an independent survey conducted on more than 5,000 residents from December 9 to 21 also favored Garbo and Aquino accruing 74.97% and 64.17%, respectively.

Additionally, the recent survey was conducted among 200 respondents aged 18 years old and above through face-to-face, and door-to-door interviews using a structured questionnaire via Tablet Assisted Personal Interview (TAPI). The survey has a +/- 6.93% margin of error and a 95% confidence level.
