PDEA-CL seizes P6.9-M shabu hidden in toy figures

CLARK FREEPORT – A kilo of shabu worth P6.9 million found inside a package of toy figures, which arrived at the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, was seized from a female claimant in a controlled delivery operation on Wednesday led by members of the PDEA Central Luzon in Villa Crystal, Barangay Bagumbong, Caloocan City.

The consignee was identified as Charlene Nworisa, of Villa Crystal Phase 1, Bagumbong Dulo, Caloocan City.

Authorities said the packages containing shabu were concealed in the cavity of the toy figures.

“The package emanated from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and arrived in Port of Clark last March 12, 2022. As a matter of procedure, it underwent the process of X-ray and field testing using Rigaku Progency that led to the discovery of 31 translucent plastic pouches containing white crystalline substance weighing MOL  1,000 grams that prompted in launching controlled delivery operation,” the PDEA-CL said.

The operation was jointly conducted by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, PDEA NCR NDO, PNP units.

The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165.
