ANGELES CITY – A drunk man was arrested on Thursday for the death of his live-in partner in front of Cab Hardware along McArthur Highway, Bgy. Balibago this city.
Angeles City police identified the victim as Cecille Figueroa, 33, of Sta. Maria Village 2, Bgy. Balibago; and the suspect as Jeffrey David, 28, live-in partner of the victim, and resident of Purok 4 Grotto, Barangay Sapang Bato.
Police was told by scavenger Catherine de Lara, 44 – who was with Dominador Palaña, 40, a native of Negros Oriental, and Enoy Belino, 39, both barkers and no permanent address – when David, who was under the influence of liquor, urged Figueroa for intimacy but she declined.
The suspect got irked and punched the victim several times.
De Lara tried to pacify David but instead banged De Lara’s head several times on the pavement, causing fatal head injuries on the victim.
The victim was rushed to the Ospital Ning Angeles but later died.
The suspect was arrested through a follow-up operation and will be charged for homicide.
