BATAAN – Some 14 persons were arrested the other day in separate anti-illegal gambling operations in Bataan.
In a report to Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco, Hermosa police chief Maj. Emerson Coballes said his men together with 1st PMFC Bataan conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in Sitio Nazareno, Bgy. Culis, Hermosa, Bataan resulting in the arrest of the suspects Hermando Mercado, 66; Ryan Terrible, 38; Glicerio Malabayabas, 66, a driver; Allan de Leon, 42; Henry Siar, 30, a security guard; and Alma de Leon, 43, all residents of Bgy. Culis, Hermosa.
They were caught playing illegal tupada and seized from them were one live fighting cock, one dead fighting cock, two gaffs (tari) and P3,300 cash bet money.
Meanwhile, Balanga police commander Co. Dennis Rorbista reported an operation in Bgy. Upper Tuyo, Balanga City resulted in the arrest of Cesar Palarca Sarmiento, 66; Ceejay Cabillo Sarmiento, 24; Guillermo Valencia Lintan, 61; Gerardo Sta. Rita Montero, a driver; and Arnold Bagsic Soldevilla, 44; all residents of Munting Batangas, Balanga City, Bataan; Romeo Milano Reyes Jr., 49, farmer, of Camacho, Balanga City; and Henry Daygo Odover, 59, farmer, of Upper Tuyo, Balanga City.
They were arrested for illegal cockfighting and confiscated from them were two fighting cocks, two gaffs and P6,090 bet money.
All the suspects will be charged with violation of PD 1602.
