CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The best time to support local entrepreneurs who have been affected by the present pandemic is by visiting the 23rd edition of the Likha ng Central Luzon, now ongoing at the three malls in this city — SM City Pampanga, SM City San Fernando Downtown and SM City Telabastagan.
Featuring locally made products like delicacies, furniture, and housewares, the “hybrid” trade fair — ongoing from October 13 to 17 — is now utilizing both online and physical platforms amid the pandemic in order for micro small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) to promote and sell their products to a wider audience.
Sellers from Aurora will be showcasing their well-known bags, cacao, art crafts, antique and sabutan products while Bataan MSMEs will sell their bamboo, marine products and cashew delicacies.
Bulacan sellers are showcasing their turmeric products, bags and sauces while entrepreneurs from Nueva Ecija will sell their barongs, footwear, meat and mushroom products to the fair.
Pampanga participants will sell their famous delicacies, herbs, furniture and housewares; Tarlac will showcase their pottery, home décor and lanterns; while Zambales will promote their best products such as cashew, dairy products, sweets, and coconut-based products.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Leonila Baluyut said the DTI, as the organizer, will provide an easily accessible online platform that will allow buyers to see, order, buy and pay for the best products of the region through the Likha ng Central Luzon website and the Facebook page of DTI Region 3-Central Luzon.
Those who want to participate in the fair virtually may do so by visiting the website https://www.likhangcentralluzon.com or thru its Facebook Page Likha ng Central Luzon.
Those who opt for the physical trade fair may also visit the following sites: SM City Cabanatuan, SM City Olongapo Central, SM City Tarlac and WalterMart Malolos.
Likha ng Central Luzon is the major regional promotion activity held annually since 1999.
It serves as the culminating activity of a package of industry and trade-related programs given to MSMEs in the region such as training programs/seminars, business consulting, design and labeling, product development and cliniquing.
These activities aim to develop the technical capabilities of MSMEs and eventually, help them gain more market exposure, and enable them to earn more.
This year’s edition is organized by DTI in partnership with PhilExport, Regional Development Council, Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Inc., SM and WalterMart.
