ANGELES CITY — A 66-year-old woman died after being hit by an SUV which rammed into a Susie’s Cuisine branch in Barangay Balibago here, according to a report.
One of the shop’s staff, meanwhile, was reportedly injured.
The fatality has been identified as Maribel Paras Beltran, mother-in-law of AUF president Atty. Joseph Angeles. Beltran was a resident of Sta. Maria Village in Balibago.
Injured was Perlyn Revira, 34, from Barangay Lourdes Northwest, who is now recuperating at the hospital.
According to police, the driver identified as Matthew Rosario Pasuquin, 29, of 51-08 Dahlia St., Timog Park in Barangay Cutcut was trying to park his vehicle (Ford Escape, ZCJ-600) when he accidentally rammed into the shop.
Reports said Pasuguin tried to flee but was collared in a checkpoint along Arayat Boulevard, Barangay Pampang.
Beltran was declared dead on arrival at the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center due to internal injuries.
