Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco said at least 18 people were arrested on Sunday in separate anti-illegal gambling operations conducted in Balanga and Dinalupihan.
In a report, Balanga police chief Lt. Col. Dennis Orbista said his men and elements of the 1st PMFC, Bataan arrested in an illegal tupada on Ma. Lourdes St., Bgy. Central, Balanga City suspects Ronnie Boy Nueva Alfanta, 38; Julius Fontanilla Barrientos, 55; Artemio Soriano Bautista Sr., 58; Felipe Café Dulay, 64; Arnold Bajado Dulay, 39; Ruperto Gopez Cabusao Jr., 48; Jomel Christian Pineda De Leon, 28; Edwin Macaraig Santos 59; all of Bgy. Central.
Seized from them were five live fighting cocks, a dead cock, two pieces of gaff knives and P3,270 in bet money.
Meanwhile, Dinalupihan police commander Maj. Randy Apolonio reported that 10 sabungeros were arrested through a joint anti-illegal gambling operation done by personnel of Dinalupihan MPS and 1st PMFC Bataan at Brgy. JC Payumo, Dinalupihan, Bataan. They were identified as Bryan Miranda, 28; Jay Gunido, 38; Raven Salalila, 18; Reinier Salalila, 24; Ranel Salalila, 20; Aeron Jershey Sambrano, 23; Ron Kevin Sambrano, 31; Fernando Salenga Jr., 31, all of Bgy. JC Payumo; Olen Santos, 26; and Carlo Castro, 31, both of Bgy. Mabiga, Hermosa.
Confiscated from them were three game fowls, two piece gaffs and P4,400 bet money.
All the suspects will be charged with violation of PD 449 or illegal cockfighting.
