CAMP OLIVAS – Two former and one active member of the New People’s Army surrendered to authorities and turned in their firearms and explosives.
Joint operating troops of the 1st PMFC TPPO, PIU TPPO and PIT Tarlac facilitated the voluntary surrender of a former CTG member identified as alias “SK”, 46, a driver residing in Bgy. Care, Tarlac City. “SK” handed over one MK2 hand grenade.
Meanwhile, elements of the Aurora 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company along with Aurora, Dinalungan, Casiguran, Dilasag police and the 91st IB-PA facilitated the surrender of a former Militiang Bayan identified as “Ka Crispin” and turned in one .38 revolver with three live ammunition and a hand grenade.
Personnel of the 2nd PMFC ZPPO, PIU ZPPO together with other partner agencies facilitated the surrender of an active CTG member and farmer identified as “Harim”, 49, of Bgy. Aglao, San Marcelino, Zambales. “Harim” turned in one .22 revolver and an improvised 12-gauge shotgun.
PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay said hunger, hardship and unfulfilled promises pushed the three to surrender and abandon the communist movement.
Baccay said the Central Luzon police and all member-agencies of the RTF-ELCAC 3 will continue the “whole sector” approach against communist terrorists to achieve peace and national unity.
