77 Aeta families get own houses from Capitol

PORAC, Pampanga – Seventy-seven Aeta families who were victims of the 2019 earthquake received from the Capitol the certificates of occupancy for their own houses in Barangay Babo Pangulo in this town on July 28.

Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda personally gave the Aetas the certificates for the houses, which were constructed using funds from the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the National Housing Authority.

He was accompanied by Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, 2nd District Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon, Mayor Jing Capil and other officials during the turnover.

Each 30-square meter unit was built with a budget of P500,000.

According to the Governor, there is also a water system and a daycare in the relocation area.

The Governor also said that he will work with Mayor Capil to build a barangay hall, school buildings and a basketball court in the community. Meanwhile, the Capitol will repair the sewers and Pelco II will install electricity meters.

Each Aeta home was also furnished with home appliances while the DSWD gave each family P3,000.

Vice Governor Nanay is already lobbing for the construction of 19 more houses.
