ANGELES CITY – “Ang urban poor ngayon po ay nagkakaisa at hindi na kailanman mabubuwag ng sino man.”
Thus said Merlito Tuazon, President of the Angeles City Federation of Urban Poor, 82 leaders of which pledged their support for the candidacy of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. and the entire slate of Team Lazatin during a meeting on November 11, 2021 at the Best Western Hotel in Barangay Balibago.
“Salamat po sa inyong pagtulong sa amin, ngayon lang po namin nadama na ang tunay na nagmamalasakit sa mga urban poor ay ang Lazatin Team,” Tuazon added, “Kami po ay lalong tumibay at susuporta sa inyong Team Lazatin.”
Since October 14, 2020, the City Government under the Lazatin administration has acquired 11 properties through the Local Urban Poor Affairs and Housing Office (LUPAHO).
The properties have a total land area of 206,231 square meters with a total of 5,022 beneficiaries.
During the meeting, Lazatin said that the City’s socialized housing program under his administration is but a continuation of the legacy started by his father, former Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin.
It was under the term of former Mayor Tarzan Lazatin that the LUPAHO was first established.
Also present during the meeting were re-electionist Vice Mayor Ma. Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting and the entire slate of Team Lazatin councilor-aspirants – incumbent City Councilors Joan Crystal “JC” Aguas, Marino “Niknok” Bañola, Joseph Alfie Bonifacio, Raco Del Rosario, Danilo “Dan” Lacson, Jesus “Jay” Sangil, and Atty. Arvin “Pogs” Suller; as well as new hopefuls Rodelio Mamac Jr., Aaron Pineda, and Christopher Joseph “CJ” Ponce.
Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, who is running for a third consecutive term unopposed, was unable to attend the meeting due to a prior engagement.
All attendees during the meeting underwent antigen testing via Quest Diagnostics prior to entering the venue.
