LUBAO, Pampanga — Some 10,320 bags of palay seeds were distributed to 37 agricultural barangays of Lubao from May 30 to June 1, 2022 through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Seed Program.
Mayor Esmie Pineda led the three-day distribution of palay seeds to close to 4,373 rice farmers who are registered under the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture. She was assisted by staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office and barangay officials.
Mayor Pineda, who said the distribution of the seeds came in time for this year’s wet season planting, thanked the farmers for their support to the government’s rice sufficiency goal.
She vowed to give away free fertilizers to boost their palay production, which will be released this August. The distribution of the free fertilizers will now be an annual program of the municipal government, according to Mayor Pineda.
The mayor also thanked all barangays for their support to Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, Second District Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab and elected municipal officials in the last election.
“Makaasa po ang ating mga kababayan sa lahat ng barangay ng Lubao sa tuluy-tuloy nating serbisyo,” Mayor Pineda said.
