BATAAN — Two persons drowned Monday afternoon in a beach resort in Bataan, according to reports.
Bataan police acting director col. Romell Velasco identified the fatalities as driver Ricky Geronimo, 58, and Joerge Pangilinan, 59, a businessman; both residents of Bgy. Nagbalon, Marilao, Bulacan.
Police said they responded to a report of the drowning incident at Adelle Beach Resort, Bgy. Sabang, Morong around 4 pm.
Velasco said personnel of Morong MPS immediately proceeded to the area to verify the veracity of the report.
According to the investigation and interview conducted by Morong MPS, witness Dante Paz said he and the two victims were swimming together when they were carried away 20 meters from the shoreline by strong waves.
The victims were recovered by some concerned citizens and were taken to the Morong Rural Health Center but were declared dead on arrival.
