CLARK FREEPORT — Travelers can now enter South Korea visa-free through Yangyang International Airport (YNY) from the new Clark International Airport (CRK) via the low coast airline, Fly Gangwon, starting June 25, 2022.
Clark is Fly Gangwon’s first Philippine destination and it will only operate in CRK.
Under the Visa Waiver Program, travelers arriving through Yangyang International Airport can visit Gangwon and Seoul City center for up to 15 days with restrictions, and must travel in groups of minimum of 5, or travel with 15 passengers for a cheaper package through a designated travel agency.
Filipino interest over Korean culture has evidently soared in recent years and South Korea has risen as a dream tourism destination for many Filipinos. Flying through YNY will provide Filipinos the opportunity to experience the South Korean countryside with Naksan Beach just a stone throw’s away, and to experience the bustling city life through a direct access to Incheon.
This is part of a visa-waiver program, which was reinstated after being suspended for more than two years because of the pandemic. Now that COVID-19 cases are dropping in South Korea, the country has decided to relax its border restrictions by exempting fully vaccinated visitors from mandatory quarantine starting June 1, 2022.
According to the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD), which manages and operates the revitalized Clark International Airport, the New Terminal is more than ready to welcome the influx of passengers, with travel restrictions not just in Korea but also in other countries easing up.
Passengers from North Luzon, Metro Manila, and other areas may access the airport through available Point-to-Point arrangements and other transport alternatives.
The innovative terminal also allows passengers peace of mind with its contactless systems. Self-check-in kiosks and self-service baggage counters are what passengers can expect at the new terminal.
