PSAU offers incubation program for agri-aqua entrepreneurs

MAGALANG, Pampanga – The Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) is now offering the services of the Sibul Technology Business Incubator (TBI) to help develop the agribusinesses of farmers, fisherfolks, and agripreneurs.

The project is an agriculture-based business incubator geared to contribute to long-term growth and sustainability of agriculture-related enterprises through entrepreneurial and skills development, technology commercialization, and partnerships.

Sibul TBI Project Development Officer Christian Mañalac Jr. underscored that the program is mandated to expand, assist, and support research-based entrepreneurial start-ups in the field of agriculture and fishery in Central Luzon.

“Our goal is to help farmers and fisherfolks survive the industries through developing products. We want them to not only engage in the field of production or planting and harvesting, but also in the processing of their products to reach consumers,” he said.

He stated that the program aims to assist beneficiaries to help their businesses thrive amid the challenges faced by the agriculture sector by shaping innovations and building linkages to uplift their lives.

With this, Mañalac shared that the Sibul TBI project is focused on providing capability-building activities to its beneficiaries in terms of technology and business management, marketing, sales, accounting, legal matters, and business name registration.

“We are also connecting these businesses or our agripreneurs to the market, investors, and to potential government support. Our role is to connect them to opportunities,” he added.

The TBI also promotes an ecosystem where all stakeholders including the government, private sector, academe, and the whole community is helping to elevate the agriculture sector.
