CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Tuberculosis (TB) patients from the 1st, 3rd and 4th Districts of the province were given food and cash assistance during the TB Patients’ Assembly held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here on Tuesday, July 19.
Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the distribution, where each of the 1,922 recipients was given a pack of goods and P2,000 cash.
The younger Pineda said the activity is part of the regular programs of the provincial government, which began even before he succeeded his mother, the Vice Governor.
“Pagpasensyahan niyo na po itong matatanggap niyo ngayong araw, hindi po ito kalakihan pero sana makatulong po sa inyo,” he said.
The governor also advised the beneficiaries that he had directed all district hospitals to provide them free services, such as chest x-ray and hospitalization.
Aside from the food and cash assistance, the Capitol also gave a 2-month supply of multivitamins to each beneficiary.
Darwin Ombina, one of the beneficiaries from Candaba, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support of the provincial government to Kapampangans.
“Maraming salamat po kina Gov. Delta at Vice Gov. Nanay para rito sa food at cash assistance na ibinigay po nila sa ‘min, at salamat din po sa lingguhang suportang pinansyal na napakalaking tulong sa aking panggagamot,” he said.
Ombina shared that he has been diagnosed with TB since October 2021, but has been unable to continue his medication due to financial constraints.
In April of this year, his doctor informed him that the infection had spread further and that he needed to take a 9-month treatment.
Also present during the distribution were 1st District Board Members Winwin Garbo and Benny Jocson, 3rd District Board Members Jun Canlas and Lucky Labung, and 4th District Board Member Pol Balingit, and ex-officio Board Member Venancio “Asyong” Macapagal.
