‘Tsuperheroes’ in Central Luzon get 1st dose of COVID-19 vax

Continuing the effort of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to vaccinate public transport workers under the A4 category, the “TsuperHero: Kasangga sa Resbakuna” ties up with Go Negosyo’s “Let’s Go Bakuna” and SM City Malls to launch the vaccination drive in other regions in the country, starting in Central Luzon.

Pilot sites in Region III include SM Marilao, SM Tarlac, and SM Pampanga.

In the recently concluded vaccination drive in SM Marilao and SM Tarlac which ran from October 13 to 14, a total of 86 transport workers received their 1st dose of the AstraZeneca vaccines.

The identification and masterlisting of vaccinees are being facilitated by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Regional Franchising and Regulatory Offices (LTFRB-RFROs).

On October 26, 2021, the vaccination drive will be carried out in SM City Pampanga, targeting around 500 transport workers who will receive their 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccines.

The “TsuperHero: Kasangga sa Resbakuna” is a program of the DOTr, in cooperation with the Department of Health (DOH), which was launched in July of this year. The initiative aims to bring vaccination centers closer to transport workers to ensure that they are protected from the virus, as they are part of the essential frontline workers who are most at risk of contracting the COVID-19.

The next vaccination drive after the Central Luzon leg will be at SM City Legazpi in the Bicol Region, with around 900 TsuperHeroes expected to receive their vaccines under the program, tentatively from October 28 to 29, 2021.
