CLARK FREEPORT – A total of 28 fire brigade teams from various locators inside this Freeport took their oath during the observance of National Fire Prevention month in Clark on March 1.
Members of the fire brigade teams were sworn in by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Chairman Atty. Edgardo D. Pamintuan who also served as the guest of honor and speaker during the event.
Pamintuan shared in his speech that the formation of fire brigade teams for various locators in the Freeport is a component of the state-owned firm’s safety and security program. He also emphasized the importance of being prepared for home and workplace fire emergencies.
“Napaka importante na alam natin kung paano tayo magreresponde sa mga pagkakataon na magkakaroon ng sunog. This is something that we should all be aware because safety is a shared responsibility,” he added.
Other key officials present during the event are CDC Vice President for Security Services Group (SSG) PMGen. Keith Ernald Singian (Ret.), CDC Public Safety Division (PSD) Manager BGen. Antonio Rosario, Jr., and CDC PSD Assistant Manager Robin Cenzon.
Meanwhile, some of the fire brigade teams of various locators who were inducted are from CDC, Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), Hilton Clark Sunvalley Resort, Outback Five Star Clark Phils., Inc., Yokohama Tires Philippines Inc., Amertron, Filinvest Mimosa, La Roise Noire, Best Element Industrial Ltd. Inc., Coam Philippines, Hann Philippines, Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Tanika Philippines, Prudence Development Management, PSMC Philippines, SFA Semicon Philippines, COAM, Coronation Premium Manufacturing, Fontana Development Corporation, Multitek Fasteners, Aderans Philippines, BB International Leisure and Resort Corp., Clark Electric Distribution Corporation, Clark Global City, Clark Water Corporation, and Target Lighting Corporation among others.
With this month’s theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi ka Nag-iisa,” the month of March was designated as “Fire Prevention Month” or “Burn Prevention Month” through Proclamation No. 360, which was signed in 1986 by then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
The observance of this campaign encourages “safety consciousness among our people on a year-round basis as a positive preventive approach to a problem that can be solved by increased caution, vigilance, sobriety, the use of common sense, and respect for the law.”
