Latest nationwide vaccination data shows that Mabalacat City has the highest vaccination rate in Central Luzon on October 22, Friday.
This was gleaned through a presentation of Secretary Vince Dizon, National Task Force Against COVID-19 deputy chief implementer and testing czar, on the latest nationwide vaccination data in a Zoom meeting with the mayors and governors in the country.
Data shows a total of 180,770 of the eligible population in this city have received their first dose; while 123,061 have received their complete doses. The 70% target population for herd immunity in Mabalacat is 198,001.
Dr Jay Rivera, head of CRIS of Mabalacat City, said that Dizon cited efforts of Mabalacat City in helping curb the spread of COVID-19 through vaccination
Mabalacat Mayor Crisostomo Garbo earlier said the city targets to achieve herd immunity by November 15, with only around 27,000 residents targeted to be vaccinated by the end of this month.
Garbo also said that the national government has vowed to provide more vaccines to ramp up the vaccination program in the city.
Garbo cited the collective efforts of the LGU, city council, CRIS program, frontliners, our barangay officials, and constituents in the fast-tracking of the vaccination drive in the city.
The people behind this has ensured that guidelines set by our city government are followed to speed up the vaccination program, Garbo said.
The city also recorded downward trend in daily cases.
