JCI San Juan helps Porac community

JCI San Juan Pinaglabanan President Magic Villasper is joined by Pampanga Second District Board Member Fritzie David Dizon, a member of the JCI San Juan, and former Porac Vice Mayor Dexter David during the donation of schools bags at the Pio Model Community in Porac, Pampanga.

PORAC, Pampanga – The JCI San Juan Pinaglabanan, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary, has adopted a community in Porac town for its annual outreach program.

Led by JCI San Juan President Magic Villasper and Past President and Kapampangan Abigail Arceo David, the group gave 1,000 school bags and snacks to children from Barangays Pio and Planas here on Friday. The bags contained school supplies, lunch box and plastic glass with cover.

The JCI San Juan under the project called “Lingap Komunidad” also donated books, mini library and water filtration system to the same community.

David said the annual giving of school bags was done since 2011 in cooperation with JCI Singapore Marina.

“We started with 100 bags and then 300. Now we are annually giving 1,000 school bags. JCI San Juan and Singapore share the expenses for the bags,” said David.

“The heart feels good when you help,” she added.

The same project was done in Bantayan Island in Cebu last year.

Also present during the event at the covered court of the Pio Model Community here are Pampanga Second District Board Member Fritzie David Dizon, a member of the JCI San Juan, former Porac Vice Mayor Dexter David, JCI San Juan Senate President Herbert Tang, JCI Singapore President Evelyn Chew and officers and members of JCI chapters from Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Indonesia.
