NEW CLARK CITY — The use of this place, particularly the Aquatic Center, as venue for a world planning congress was cited as an example of creativity and tropicality.
Tarlac Governor Susan Yap said that the use of a former venue of the Southeast Asian Games for the 60th ISOCARP World Planning Congress (WPC) is “a profound sense of place.”
“This denotes the out of the box thinking of creativity of transcending traditional methods or rules in formulating plans or rules from a truly visionary viewpoint. We take in the tropicality, authencity and openness of this setting,”Yap said.
WPC gathered hundreds of urban planning professionals from around the world for knowledge exchange, collaboration and discussion of future of cities.
“The use of the Aquatic Center is illustrative of the highly unconventional character of our world planning professionals,” Yap said.
“New Clark City symbolizes our nation’s aspirations for growth innovation and progress. It embodies the spirit of collaboration and forward thinking that defines our collective vision for the future for new cities relocated capital sites as well as regenerative cities,” she furthered.
