AUF Legal Clinic to formally open

The Angeles University Foundation-School of Law’s Legal Clinic will be formally launched on September 30, 2024 (Monday) at 2 PM at the AUF Professional Schools (PS) Building.

Former Supreme Court Justice Jose Vitug is expected to lead legal luminaries to who will grace the occasion.

The AUF-School of Law started its Clinical Legal Education Program in the Academic Year 2021-2022 with the aim to produce ethical, competent, practice-ready, and socially committed lawyers. Since then, the AUF-SOL CLEP Program has been conducting various activities through the following areas of service: Policy Advocacy, Community Engagement and Empowerment, and Legal Assistance through Legal Counseling, all informed by the tenets of Developmental Legal Advocacy.

Starting September 30, 2024, the AUF-SOL Legal Clinic will provide legal counseling on certain thematic areas like Barangay Assistance, Women and Children, Human Trafficking, Labor and Environment Desks. With the theme “Role of Law Students and the Academe in Improving Access to Justice in the Face of the Emerging Issues in Angeles City and the Judicial Region,” the launch will also include a Fireside Chat which will involve a discussion on the emerging issues in Angeles City and the role of law students and the academe in the collective pursuit to address these challenges to access to justice.

Graduates at AUF-SOL have performed well in bar examinations, posting one of the highest passing rates in the country.
