Mabalacat City to have very 1st pedestrian overpass

The Mabalacat City Government under the leadership of Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has announced the construction of the city’s first pedestrian overpass.

This infrastructure project being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways aims to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate the bustling areas within the Dau, according to Garbo.

To facilitate the launching of steel girders for this landmark project, the section of MacArthur Highway in Barangay Dau (near Didi’s Pizza and Wilcon Depot) will be temporarily closed to traffic from 10 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, until 5 AM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

During the road closure, the Mabalacat City Government has prepared a comprehensive traffic rerouting plan to minimize congestion. Motorists are advised to refer to the layout provided by the Mabalacat City Traffic Enforcement Group (MCTEG) for guidance on alternative routes.

The city government encourages all motorists to plan their trips in advance, as traffic congestion is expected during this time. To avoid such inconvenience, motorists are urged to consider using alternative routes such as the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), SCTEx and CMAR.
