ANGELES CITY – Athletes from Angeles City who excelled in the Batang Pinoy National Championships will be rewarded with cash incentives, according to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
The mayor said this is in recognition of their dedication and achievements in representing the city.
Gold medalists will receive ₱20,000, silver medalists ₱15,000, while the bronze medalists will grt ₱10,000.
This is also part of the city government’s commitment to sports development and youth empowerment, the mayor said.
At the time of writing, Angeles City Sports Office Head Maeve Mendiola announced on their Facebook page that the city has 3 medals – one gold medal for chess, one silver medal for chess, and one silver medal for swimming, and other games are still ongoing.
“On behalf of our athletes, dakal pung salamat Mayor Lazatin, and the people of Angeles City, king suporta,” Mendiola said. “The athletes are well taken cared of by Mayor Lazatin. To Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, maraming salamat po sa pagantabay sa ating athletes.”
Mayor Lazatin emphasized the young athletes’ efforts and reiterated his administration’s continued support for grassroots sports programs.
“We take pride in our student-athletes who have brought honor to Angeles City. This recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Mayor Lazatin also acknowledges the coaches and trainers who played a crucial role in the athletes’ success.
Mayor Lazatin remains steadfast in its flagship program to promote athletic excellence and provide opportunities for the youth to develop their potential in sports.
