MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Some 50 women from various cooperatives in this city received financial grants from the city government, amounting to P1 million.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo spearheaded the distribution of the grant assistance of P20,000 each at the mayor’s office.

Mayor Garbo expressed his support for the empowerment of women in the city, emphasizing the important role they play in economic development.

“Investing in our women is investing in our future. These grants are not just financial support; they are a step towards self-sufficiency and economic independence,” the mayor stated during the distribution ceremony.

The financial assistance aims to enhance the livelihood programs of these cooperatives, which vary from food production to retail and transport businesses. Each recipient received a grant that will enable them to expand their operations, purchase necessary equipment, and improve their overall business strategies.

City Cooperative Officer, Jaycee Marucut, highlighted the importance of supporting women-led initiatives.
