All smiles hint case dismissal?

Mabalacat City Councilor Timothy “Timmy” Dee took to social media his elation, hinting of a dismissal of a case filed against him before the Ombudsman.

In his FB post, Dee stated “Ngayong saktong 11:49 ng gabi January 31,2025 natanggap ko ang sulat galing sa ombudsman kay tagal na panahon kong nagantay at nagdasal ng taimtim (at 11:49 pm of January 31, 2025, I received a letter from the [Office of] Ombudsman which I have waited for so long and have fervently prayed for).”

Accompanying his post is a picture of himself beaming with a smile and a photo of a brown envelope marked registered mail from the Ombudsman.

Dee, together with Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, Vice Mayor Gerald Guttrie Aquino, Councilors Noel Castro, Rox Peña, Carlo Dizon, Cocoy Tiglao, Liza Pineda, Jerry Magsino, Cherry Manalo, Marjorie Sambo, Hanz Balingit and Elmer Mendiola figured in a graft and administrative case filed by their colleague Councilor Marcos “Jun” Castro. It stemmed from the P2.0789 loan from the Landbank for the then planned new city hall project.

While Dee did not give details of contents of the packet he received, the brown envelope is marked with “OMB-L-C-SEP-23-0160/OMB-L-A-SEP-23-0156”.

This is almost similar to the markings (“OMB-IC.SEP-23-0160”) on the copy of complaint held by Castro before media in his press conference after filing the case with the Ombudsman in 2023.

Dee thanked his family and friends for seeing him through on stressful days. He said the embarrassment caused by the charges led to an attempted suicide. He added that it led to hospital confinements and bouts with seizures. He is afflicted with Parkinsons Disease.

Prior to Dee’s post, the reported “dismissal” of the Ombudsman case has been circulating on social media.
