Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon stressed that continuity is key to completing transport projects.
According to Dizon, big ticket projects under the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will continue without let up and will even be expedited without disruption to ensure that Filipino commuters will reap the benefits of these transport projects.
Dizon described the transition between him and outgoing Secretary Jaime J. Bautista as a “passing of the baton in the Olympics.”
“Kailangan habang pinapasa ang baton, imbes na bumabagal, kailangan pang pinapabilis. Kailangan natin magtrabaho ng mas maigi, kailangan natin pabilisin ito [transport projects],” Sec. Dizon said during the DOTr turnover rites.
“Kapag natapos itong mga proyektong ito, talagang giginhawa ang buhay ng ating mga kapwa Pilipino,” he added.
The newly-appointed transport chief assured outgoing Sec. Bautista that projects under his term will continue.
Among the big-ticket projects Sec. Dizon cited are the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), Metro Manila Subway, privatization of regional airports, as well as the EDSA Busway, construction of the EDSA Greenways Project, among others.
“Let’s roll up our sleeves and let’s get to work to get things done,” Sec. Dizon said.
