Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, the 11-member powerhouse Senate slate backed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is set to storm Pampanga on April 23 with four major campaign events across the province, each hosted by prominent Kapampangan leaders.
The series of rallies marks a decisive push to consolidate support in one of the country’s most influential and vote-rich provinces.
With 1.67 million registered voters, Pampanga stands as a political stronghold and a key battleground in the May midterm elections.
In 2022, President Marcos secured more than 735,000 votes in the province, reaffirming its solid backing for administration-aligned candidates.
Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa’s campaign manager, said the Pampanga sortie reflects the coalition’s commitment to connect directly with voters across the province.
“Pampanga is a game-changer. Its people want leaders who will work, not grandstand, and that’s exactly what Alyansa stands for,” Tiangco said.
The Alyansa ticket is composed of former Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senate Majority Leader Francis “Tol” Tolentino, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
Lapid, a native of Porac, Pampanga, and a former governor of the province, is expected to receive a warm welcome as he campaigns in his home turf.
The actor-turned-politician remains one of the province’s most popular public figures, with deep roots and a long record of public service in the region.
The Alyansa slate will be welcomed in Angeles City by officials led by Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II and Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. at the Sen. Lito Lapid Arena Sports Complex.
In San Fernando City, a major rally will be held at the Laus Events Center, hosted by former president and current Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, along with local leaders including Lubao Mayor Esmeralda “Esmie” Pineda.
At the Kingsborough International Convention Center, also in San Fernando, Alyansa will join 4th District Rep. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum and several mayors from central Pampanga.
The day will culminate in a province-wide show of unity at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, where all Pampanga provincial officials are expected to express their support.
Tiangco said Pampanga’s strong local leadership and vibrant economy make it a priority for Alyansa.
“We’re not just here to campaign. We’re here to work with Kapampangans to build lasting progress. This is about jobs, infrastructure, social services, and a better future,” he said.
“Alyansa is ready to fight for every vote and deliver a Senate that truly works for the Filipino people,” Tiangco added.
