MINALIN , Pampanga — Access to quality healthcare is about to reach even the remotest communities in Pampanga, as the provincial government is set to unveil the ₱28-million Clinic on Barge, the first-ever floating clinic in the country.

The project under Governor Dennis Pineda is designed to serve as a Primary Care Facility that can accommodate up to 200 patients. The 112-square-meter long floating clinic will offer laboratory services (e.g., X-ray and ultrasound); dental services; minor medical and surgical procedures; OB-Gyne consultations for prenatal care; and pharmacy services for basic and maintenance medications.

Governor Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led the inspection in Sitio Pasac, Barangay San Isidro, Minalin.

The iniative aims to deliver essential healthcare services to residents in coastal and underserved barangays across the province.

Joining the inspection were Minalin Mayor Philip “Pogi” Naguit, 3rd District Board Member Atty. Jun Canlas, 4th District Board Member-Elect Dr. Kaye Naguit, Provincial Engineer Noly Pangan, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Dax Tidula, PPDO Head Jericho Tapang, PENRO Engr. Arthur Punsalan, and GSO Chief Francis Maslog to assess the progress of the project.

The floating clinic is equipped with its own sewer treatment system and water pumping facility, ensuring a safe and sustainable healthcare environment even while mobile.

“This groundbreaking project reflects our commitment to ensuring no Kapampangan is left behind, especially those living in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas,” Vice Governor Pineda said during the inspection.

The Clinic on Barge is expected to become fully operational soon, bringing the future of accessible and responsive healthcare to the doorsteps of Kapampangans.
