ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, after officially taking his oath of office at the Lapid Arena in Barangay Pampang, made a commitment to Angeleños that received much applause – to suspend the collection of the environmental fee.
“Meron man magagalit, mas marami ang matutuwa, at kung may magalit man, basta gagawa tayo ng tama,” Lazatin said.
According to the newly installed mayor, this move is aimed at easing the burden on residents and entrepreneurs, and promoting sustainable development.
Mayor Lazatin said this is evident on how he listened during his campaign, promising to prioritize good governance and transparency.

The oath-taking ceremony, administered by Judge Omar Viola, was attended by regional and local public officials, stakeholders, and the media.
During the oath ceremony, a traffic enforcer held the Bible and a street sweeper served as another witness – showing the mayor’s commitment to serve all sectors of the city, from the streets to the offices.
Throughout his speech, he emphasized the vital role of the community and its residents as essential contributors to the success of Angeles City.
The mayor emphasized that the strength of Angeles City lies in its people and their collective effort toward progress and development.
