As part of its CSR initiative, the Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark, through the Bureau of Customs Employees Association (BOCEA) Clark Chapter, brought much-needed assistance to the community of Malusac Parish in Sasmuan, Pampanga — an area where residents often face challenges in accessing essential goods due to recurring floods and limited routes.

Despite the difficulty of reaching the parish—where donations had to be transferred by boat—employees of the Port of Clark pressed on to fulfill their commitment to serve the community.

A total of 100 families received relief packages containing 5 kilos of rice, canned goods, hygiene kits, and bathroom necessities, while 100 students were given school bags, books, and educational kits. These donations addressed both immediate needs and the longer-term support for children’s education.

District Collector Jairus S. Reyes emphasized that the activity was a promise fulfilled to the parish and assured that similar CSR projects will continue in other vulnerable areas of Pampanga.

“Seeing the smiles of families and students reminds us why giving back matters. Beyond our duties at the Port, we are part of a bigger community—and it is our promise to continue reaching out to those who need us most,” District Collector Reyes said.

This initiative aligns with the priority agenda of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno to uplift employee morale and strengthen the Bureau’s role in nation-building by giving back to the community. The Port of Clark also expressed gratitude to the Local Government of Pampanga, the Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Coast Guard for their swift assistance in making the activity possible.
