Smart boosts Pampanga network, draws switchers

Smart Communications, Inc. is boosting its network in Pampanga to improve customer experience in the area, firing up 5G base stations in nearly all of Pampanga’s towns.

Smart LTE is present across Pampanga, including the cities of San Fernando, Angeles and Mabalacat, and towns of Lubao, Arayat, Floridablanca, Apalit, Guagua, Mexico, Porac, Minalin, Bacolor, San Simon, Candaba, Magalang, Masantol, Santa Ana, Santa Rita, and Santo Tomas, providing high speed mobile data to customers using LTE handsets.

The leading mobile services provider’s enhanced network in the province has prompted subscribers like Edgar Galang, a business owner, to switch to Smart.

“I have long wanted to switch to Smart because of its superior experience in our area,” said Edgar, who went to SM Pampanga as soon as he found out about the availability of Mobile Number Portability (MNP).

With MNP, interested subscribers can now move to Smart while keeping their existing mobile numbers, maintaining and keeping intact their contact list and other information stored in their SIM cards.

Like Edgar, government employee Darrel Cabrera likewise requested to move to Smart at the Smart Store in SM Telabastagan so that he could experience stronger signal both inside their home and at his workplace.

“I got really excited when I found out I could use my old number with Smart,” he said.

For Charlotte Antiporda, retaining her number was also her priority. “I really liked Smart’s unlimited offers, so I applied for a Smart Signature plan,” she said.

With around 6,400 5G base stations nationwide, Smart operates the country’s widest 5G network in the Philippines. It has also been named as the fastest* and most reliable 5G Mobile Network by Ookla**.

Smart’s mobile network is supported by PLDT’s fiber infrastructure, the country’s most extensive at about 615,000 kilometers nationwide as of end-September.

To switch to Smart, users must first secure a Unique Subscriber Code from their originating provider to serve as clearance and by bringing it to the nearest Smart Store along with a valid ID and any proof of mobile ownership. From there, Smart will begin processing their application for free. Interested subscribers can also make the Smart move via the GigaLife App.
