Julie Ann, Rayver support eco-friendly cause

Celebrities Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz lent their star power to an eco-friendly cause, supporting an initiative that upcycles single-use plastic sachets and beverage cartons into school ecoboard chairs.

The pair joined the relaunch of Eco Protect Management Corporation’s “Lunes Malinis” (MaLu) program held at Sta. Teresita Elementary School in Angeles City.

At the event, EPMC unveiled its new ecoboard—a plywood-like panel crafted from shredded sachets and cartons. This material is used to assemble the latest version of the MaLu armchairs, designed to be durable, eco-friendly seats for pupils.

Students can help their schools earn these armchairs by collecting a minimum of eight (8) kilos of used cartons and sachets.

In addition, EPMC shared that key features of the ecoboards include weather resistance and durability, and versatility for use beyond school chairs, such as bulletin boards, roofing, walling, and flooring.

Representing Mayor Jon Lazatin at the relaunch was Councilor Edu Pamintuan.
