YAKAP Program in Central Luzon launched at Mekeni Food Corp

PHILHEALTH,DOLE PILOT YAKAP AT MEKENI. PhilHealth and DOLE Region 3 jointly launched the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) in Central Luzon at Mekeni Food Corporation, marking the company as the chosen pilot site for the program in the region.

PORAC, Pampanga — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 3 and PhilHealth Region 3 officially launched the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) in Central Luzon at Mekeni Food Corporation, marking the company as the chosen pilot site for the program in the region.

More than 400 Mekeni employees immediately expressed interest in the program, while the company’s AVP for HR and Exports encouraged all 1,400 employees to register and take advantage of YAKAP’s preventive healthcare benefits and access to essential medicines.

“We are grateful to DOLE and PhilHealth for choosing Mekeni as the launching site of YAKAP in Central Luzon,” said Uy, AVP for HR and Exports of Mekeni Food Corporation. “This program is very timely and relevant, especially for our employees. We encourage everyone to register and maximize the benefits that will help them and their families live healthier lives.”

Present during the launch were DOLE Region 3 Assistant Regional Director Alejandro Inza Cruz, PhilHealth Acting Vice President Henry Almanon, Angeles City Chief Social Insurance Officer Robert Padron, DOLE Region 3 Chief Labor and Employment Officer Maria Rima Hernandez, and Pampanga Field Officer May Lynn Gozun.

Almanon and Padron discussed the details of YAKAP, an expanded version of the PhilHealth Konsulta program. YAKAP offers comprehensive primary care services, including consultations, laboratory tests, cancer screenings such as mammograms and colonoscopies, and access to 75 essential medicines. Members may avail of up to ₱20,000 worth of health services, designed to significantly reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses.

To access these benefits, members must register with an accredited YAKAP clinic, secure prescriptions with unique security codes, and claim medicines at designated GAMOT partner facilities.

The nationwide launch of YAKAP was conducted simultaneously in different regions, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening preventive healthcare for Filipinos.
