
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has cracked the whip in Pampanga as he included one district engineer as among DPWH officials who have been tagged for alleged anomalous flood control projects.
In a press conference, Dizon announced that the agency has issued show cause order to at least 10 officials for reported lavish lifestyles, substandard projects and failure to cooperate in the on-going investigations.

The list included Engr Almer Miranda, head of Pampanga First District Engineering Office which jurisdiction included the P280-million flood control project in Candating, Arayat town.

The controversial project which collapsed was tagged by Sen Ping Lacson as among those flood control structures that were alleged to be anomalous.

Dizon inspected the supposed 110-meter long structure on Tuesday with Independent Commission for Infrastructure adviser Benjie Magalong. During the visit, he confronted Edgar Sagum of EddMari Construction which was contracted by the DPWH whether it was indeed the latter’s company that actually built the project.
The project is being linked to former House of Representative Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales who has denied participation in its implementation.
Aside from Miranda, other DPWH officials who were asked to submit written explanations within five days include :
