BALANGA CITY — For residents heading home after dark and vendors starting work before dawn, brighter streets in Dinalupihan, Bataan now mean safer travel, clearer roads, and stronger community confidence with the installation of 144 new streetlights in key public areas.
The municipality of Dinalupihan formally inaugurated the street lighting project on January 20, 2026 as part of the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF).
With a total cost of P1,153,000, the installation covers strategic areas including the government center, public market, and transport terminal, which serve as major hubs for public services, commerce, and mobility.
Completed on September 29, 2025, the system aims to enhance public safety, improve road visibility, and promote peace and order, especially during nighttime hours when residents, workers, and commuters remain active.

The improved lighting also supports local economic activity by creating a safer environment for small businesses and transport operations.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman said the initiative demonstrates the concrete benefits of good governance and compliance with national standards.
“This achievement proves that when you comply with standards, uphold transparency, and put people first, rewards follow, not just incentives, but the trust and confidence of your constituents,” Herman said, noting that the installation was made possible through Dinalupihan’s recognition as a 2024 SGLG awardee.
DILG Assistant Regional Director Jay Timbreza also highlighted the significance of the streetlights, emphasizing that although the effort may seem simple, it provides meaningful benefits for safety, peace and order, and overall community welfare.
The street lighting project aligns with the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which underscores good local governance, public safety, and inclusive development under the Bagong Pilipinas agenda, ensuring that national incentives translate into tangible improvements that uplift communities and improve quality of life at the grassroots level.
