BALER, Aurora — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has inaugurated a P9.9-million aviation training facility in Dipaculao, Aurora, aimed at strengthening aviation support for maritime safety and security operations.

This 350-square-meter facility will serve as a dedicated training and development center for personnel of the Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom), supporting the PCG’s efforts to enhance operational readiness and mission effectiveness.

PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan said the infrastructure will play a key role in improving capabilities in maritime safety, search and rescue, and disaster response operations.

It features classrooms, a conference room, and equipment storage areas designed to facilitate instruction, coordination, and aviation support.

The training programs will cater to pilots, aircrew, and support personnel involved in aviation operations, including search and rescue and environmental response missions.

Gavan noted that the center reflects the government’s resilience in addressing emerging challenges and underscores its commitment to public welfare.

Meanwhile, CGAvCom Commander Commodore John Esplana expressed sincere appreciation to the municipal government of Dipaculao for its unwavering support.

He also commended their continued commitment to advancing Coast Guard infrastructure within the area of responsibility.

Aurora, sitting along the Pacific seaboard, is often in the path of typhoons and other maritime hazards.

With the new training facility, the PCG aims to strengthen operational readiness, enabling faster and more effective responses that protect coastal communities and support long-term public safety and environmental protection.
