Capitol distributes 3rd batch of Barangay Patrol Tricycles

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Provincial Government of Pampanga has successfully rolled out the third batch of Barangay Patrol tricycles, with 51 additional units deployed to further strengthen peace and order initiatives across communities in the province.

The program is spearheaded by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda  in partnership with the Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), under the leadership of Regional Director Venus Rebuldela.

Municipal mayors and barangay captains from participating local government units formally received the patrol units during the turnover ceremony held at the Capitol Compound. The distribution included 11 units for the Municipality of Minalin, 12 for the Municipality of Apalit, 7 for the Municipality of Santo Tomas, and 21 for the Municipality of Bacolor.

According to Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit, the patrol tricycles provide timely assistance to barangays, particularly amid rising fuel costs.

“Napakalaking tulong nito and it is very timely dahil nasa crisis tayo at napakamahal ng gas. Yung mga barangay service na four-wheel vehicles ay medyo malaki ang konsumo nila sa fuel,” he said.

With this latest distribution, a total of 247 patrol units have now been deployed out of the 505 barangays targeted under the program. The total value of the distributed units is estimated at ₱29.6 million.

The initiative aims to enhance mobility and improve the response capability of barangay officials and tanods, thereby reinforcing peace and order at the grassroots level.

Also present during the ceremony were Provincial Board Members Atty. Claire Lim, Dra. Kaye Naguit, Fritzie David-Dizon, Atty. Vince Calara, Christian Halili, Lucky Labung, Mymy Gonzales, and Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco. Joining them were Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Bacolor Mayor Eduardo Datu, and Sto. Tomas Mayor John Sambo, along with department heads from the Provincial Capitol. (Photos by Pampanga PIO)
